Dear Customers,
In light of industry-wide changes to the validity periods of public SSL certificates, we would like to inform you in advance about the future model.
One thing is particularly important here: You no longer simply purchase a single certificate with a fixed term, but rather a subscription for a defined period. Within this subscription, your certificate can be reissued as needed. This means: While the term of an individual certificate will be shorter, the contractual basis and the fundamental right to use it remain in effect for the entire duration of the subscription.
In other words: You do not purchase a new product, but rather use the option within your existing subscription to have a follow-up certificate issued. That is why Sectigo states that the product will not become more expensive. The shorter validity period of an individual certificate therefore does not automatically lead to higher product costs, as the subscription remains unchanged as the overarching basis for duration and services.
For you, this means above all greater transparency and planning security: Even if individual certificates are reissued at shorter intervals in the future, the associated subscription remains the authoritative basis. This allows the certificate lifecycle to be mapped flexibly and transparently .
Additionally, you can conveniently check at any time in our SSL-Robot to see how long your subscription is still valid. There, you will see not only the current certificate validity but also the remaining term of the subscription as well as the date of the next possible or required reissuance. This way, you always have an overview of the entire lifecycle of your certificate.
In short:
You no longer purchase a single certificate, but a subscription. Within this subscription, the certificate can be reissued as needed. For this reason, the basic pricing structure remains unchanged, even if the term of the individual certificate has been shortened.
Best regards
