As part of the implementation of legal requirements for IT security (NIS2), DENIC will introduce an additional verification step for domain data effective April 14, 2026. These changes affect all .de domain holders.

What does this mean for you?

From this point on, domain and contact information will be subject to more rigorous verification. As a result, certain details may be classified as incomplete or suspicious. In such cases, you will be asked to confirm or correct your information.

Important for you:
  • Please make sure that your contact information (name, address, email, phone number) is always up to date and accurate.

  • If you receive a verification request, please respond promptly.

  • If we do not receive a response, this could, in the worst-case scenario, result in your domain being temporarily deactivated and ultimately deleted.

Why is this necessary?

These measures are based on European Union regulations (the NIS2 Directive) and are intended to enhance the security and reliability of internet services.
